  • Overview

    Production Engineers are accountable for the design, execution, and evaluation of the production of vertical and horizontal oil and gas wells. They are expected to work closely with field and corporate office Operations staff, other engineers, and management to ensure well costs and performance meet FourPoint Energy’s objectives to maximize the value of oil and gas properties, prospects, and lands.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support operations Superintendent and Foreman (production) at the field level during design, execution, and evaluation of all assigned regional operations.
    • Support production engineers in the corporate office with data gathering, data analysis, technical support as needed.
    • Communicate with Lease Operators, Field Techs, Production Admins, and all others at the field office.
    • Write detailed operational procedures, capital and expense cost estimates, forecast revenue, compile and summarize well data, and supply same to field employees in a timely manner.
    • Understand oil & gas regulatory rules (federal, state, local levels) related to the production operations of wells assigned to the field office.
    • Work as needed to assist other departments within FourPoint (Land, Accounting, Geology, Reservoir Engineering) to efficiently operate and maintain sound business practices
    • Collect local best practices from company staff and other oil & gas operators.
    • Support input of field data into operations database and run queries for analysis from same.

    Other Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide coverage for senior engineers as needed.
    • Other duties as required.


    Education, Skills and Experience Required

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
    • 2 to 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas Operations.
    • Fully proficient with all Microsoft office suite products.
    • Familiarity with oilfield / petroleum engineering software products a plus.

    Physical Requirements

    • Standing, sitting, walking, lifting up to 100 lbs., bending, visual acuity, hearing, speaking.
    • Ability to work at computer for long periods of time.
    • Ability to work in oilfield wellsite operational environment.
    • Ability and license to operate a company vehicle.
    • Ability to change a flat tire on a company vehicle

    Environmental Conditions

    • Work is indoors in office environment as well as outdoors in oilfield environment. 
    • May be exposed to and must be able to drive in adverse weather conditions (snow, rain, ice, wind, cold, heat, etc.) and may be exposed to constant noise, flammable fluids, H2S fumes, and fluids under high pressure.
